Life Jackets & Watersports Buoyancy Aids

Personal flotation devices (PFDs) are worn to keep you afloat should you enter the water. There are a number of different types, but the most common are buoyancy aids (worn by people who can swim, when practising watersports), and lifejackets, which have a higher buoyancy rating.

Have a read of the RNLI Guide to Choosing a Lifejacket to assist you in making your selection, depending on your activity and the type of water conditions you will be on.
